I was just watching the kids in downtown Seattle protesting capitalist greed. I just have to tell you my recent experience with AAA Auto Club. I’m disabled and fear going out the door without knowing a tow truck is just a call away. This month, through poor planning, I let my membership expire. The was just no way to pay for my membership until next month. I was beside myself. If I ran out of gas on the way to the grocery store there is just no way I could walk far enough to get help.
I wrote AAA and explained my circumstances. They wrote back and told me for anybody who had an expired membership they would do one courtesy tow. In my case, since I had taken the time to write they have extended my full membership until June 15. I could break down 100 miles from home and they would still come and get me at no charge.
In my book they are capitalist heroes. I don’t think I’ll be walking around downtown Seattle wearing a mask and protesting this business!
