All-time Silvertips leading goal scorer Tyler Maxwell is coming back o the area again this offseason to conduct his fourth annual Maxwell Sniper Camp on June 13-15 at Lynnwood Ice Center and OlympicView Arena. The camp provides the opportunity for youth hockey players, both boys and girls, to improve their skills and learn about the game. Maxwell, who scored 107 goals in 216 games with Everett from 2008-12, spent the past season playing professionally in Italy, where he had 20 goals and 26 assists in 32 games with Valpellice. Among his camp instructors are Tips assistant coach Mitch Love and local youth coach Shaun Miller.
The camp will be broken down into two age groups: 11-and-over and 10-and-under. Early registration can be made online on the camp’s Facebook page or in person at Shooters Hockey Center in Everett, both for a 10-percent discount. The camp will also be taking registrations on the opening day of the camp, and some scholarships will be available. As is tradition, part of the proceeds from the camp are being donated to the Everett Youth Hockey Booster Club and the Seattle Junior Hockey Association. This year some proceeds will also be donated to the Oso Landslide Fund.
