MILL CREEK — A convicted felon from Monroe was being held on $250,000 bail Friday after Mill Creek police discovered him at a storage unit late last month with 46 firearms, including more than 30 that had been reported stolen.
The man, 34, initially tried to run when police showed up April 29 at the storage locker after being told that it might be the location of suspected drug trafficking, according to Mill Creek police spokesman Ian Durkee.
The man was arrested on a felony warrant for drug and weapons violations, with bail set at $100,000.
He was found with suspected heroin, according to a police report filed in Everett District Court. Firearms were in plain view, and when they were secured and checked, they turned out to have been reported stolen in Snohomish.
A search of the storage unit turned up a total of 46 weapons, 31 of which were found to have been reported stolen in burglaries throughout Snohomish and King counties.
The man’s criminal history makes it illegal for him to possess any firearms, Durkee said. He was booked for investigation of dozens of counts of being felon in possession of firearms and dozens of counts of possessing stolen firearms.
