LYNNWOOD — A man was arrested in south Snohomish County on Friday afternoon after a police chase from Lynnwood to Brier.
Lynnwood officers were called to Alderwood mall just after noon for a report of a man shoplifting, Sgt. Sean Doty said.
The suspect and two women were seen getting into a car.
Police attempted to stop the car, and the driver took off.
A chase ensued, ending in the 21100 block of 28th Avenue W., in the Brier area. The man ran away and was caught by a Lynnwood police dog.
The two women in the car also were detained.
Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies and Brier and Mountlake Terrace police assisted.
Hazelwood Elementary was in lockdown during the commotion.
