SULTAN — Sultan won Friday’s Cascade Conference game against South Whidbey after the Falcons forfeited in the bottom of the first inning. The Turks were winning 2-0 with both runs scoring on a wild pitch by Falcons starter Kacie Hanson. According to Turks head coach Garth MacDicken, Hanson suffered a rib injury covering home plate when she attempted to catch an overthrow from Falcons catcher Anne Madsen after the wild pitch. The freshman, South Whidbey’s only pitcher, could not continue. The result clinched a 2A district playoff berth for Sultan.
