MUKILTEO — Officials on Monday were working to identify a man who died Friday night after being struck by a train in Mukilteo.
The collision was reported at 10:20 p.m. near Lighthouse Park, 608 Front St., Mukilteo police officer Colt Davis said.
An Amtrak train was southbound when it struck the man on the tracks. The man, described as white and in his 50s, died at the scene.
Mukilteo police and Burlington Northern Santa Fe investigators are trying to determine why the man was on the tracks, Davis said.
They also are working with the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
