Passenger killed in off-road event at Chewelah

CHEWELAH — One person was killed in a rollover at the Mountain Mania Mud Bogs off-road event in Chewelah.
The Stevens County sheriff’s office is investigating Saturday’s fatality.
KREM-TV reported that four people were in a vehicle that overturned at the top of the hill and one of the passengers was ejected and crushed.
The driver was injured and airlifted to a Spokane hospital. Two other passengers were not injured.
