EVERETT — Police in Everett are looking for help identifying a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run collision that severely injured a pedestrian.
The crash occurred around 10:45 p.m. May 2 when a man was struck by a westbound SUV while crossing Pecks Drive at Fleming Street.
The SUV braked and slowed down but did not stop to render aid, Everett police officer Aaron Snell said. The man who was hit, 55, suffered several broken bones and was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center.
He is expected to survive and was transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment.
The vehicle is a newer four-door SUV with minor front end damage. It has shiny wheels and an inoperable brake light.
Based on the vehicle braking and the extent of the pedestrian’s injuries, detectives believe the driver knew the vehicle hit something, Snell said.
