CAMAS — Rudy Caparas finished off his promising start this time.
A year after faltered on Day 2 of the state championship, the Lynnwood senior shot a 71 to equal his 71 from Wednesday to win the 4A state championship at Camas Meadow Golf Course on Thursday. Caparas’ two-day total of 142 was four shots better than second place.
Last year, Caparas shot an 80 after shooting a 70 on Day 1 to fall to sixth place.
Snohomish’s Luke Kuna, whose round of 70 put him in second after Day 1, shot a 79 to finish tied for 10th place.
