Marysville, Tulalip hit with brief power outage

MARYSVILLE — A brief power outage was reported in the Marysville and Tulalip areas Friday afternoon.

The outage affected about 5,700 businesses and homes, said Neil Neroutsos, spokesman for the Snohomish County Public Utility District.

Three substations went offline for about 30 minutes, shortly after 3 p.m.

“We’re still not sure what the cause was,” he said.

After most regained power, traffic signals continued to flash red for a time, according to Marysville police.
