Today

Bad guys beware: Longmire launches its third season tonight, which means the laconic lawman (Robert Taylor) is back on duty in Wyoming’s Absaroka County. 10 p.m., A&E.

Things are heating up and not just because summer is near. The sizzling melodrama Mistresses returns for its second season. Now just try to keep your TV from melting. 10:01 p.m., ABC (Channel 4).

Tuesday

Can you fabricate, or force, fame? The new reality series, Famous in 12, follows members of one family over the course of 12 weeks as they move to Los Angeles and try to raise their profile via various contrivances. 8 p.m., The CW (Channel 11).

Wednesday

Because there just aren’t enough trophy fests for the nation’s deprived country singers, we’ve got the 2014 CMT Music Awards airing tonight. Performers include Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, Eric Church, Luke Bryan and Miranda Lambert. 8 p.m., CMT.

On the new sitcom Jennifer Falls, a former big-shot executive (Jaime Pressly) loses her job and is forced to move back in with her mom (Jessica Walter). Maybe they can bond over “Arrested Development” and “My Name Is Earl” reruns. 10:30 p.m., TV Land.

Thursday

And you thought it went on forever. Nope, pro basketball’s ridiculously long postseason nears its climax as the two remaining teams tip off the NBA Finals. Whose hoop dreams will be fulfilled? 9 p.m., ABC (Channel 4).

Friday

They generated big buzz in Season 1. Now, the colorful jailbirds of Orange Is the New Black return for more behind-bars drama and dark comedy. Put us under house arrest so we can start binging. Going online at 12:01 a.m., Netflix.

On Continuum, Kiera (Rachel Nichols) makes a shocking discovery. We really hate it when that happens. 10 p.m., Syfy.

Saturday

Omari Hardwick stars as James “Ghost” St. Patrick in the new drama series, Power. He’s a New York City nightclub owner who doubles as a drug kingpin to an elite clientele. Complications apparently arise. 9 p.m., Starz.
