More answers, less criticism

Regarding the May 25 editorial, “Obama's failed foreign policy”: Obama's foreign policy has certainly had its ups and downs, but critics usually offer little to nothing in remedies; and one thing is for sure, that no matter what the policy, some of us will brand it as a failure. We certainly know about failed foreign policies. Since the war in Vietnam it's been hard to point out a place on this planet where our foreign policy has turned an enemy into a friend or a failing state into a stable member of our planet.
There are no answers for the Middle East turmoils, only attempts to answer. No American president or foreign policy has brought peace and prosperity to the region. Death, destruction and alienation is our only contribution. Our only “friends” left in the Middle East, other than Israel, are run by absolute rulers or monarchies.
With Russia, there is no dealing with a player like Putin until he finds to his advantage to deal. Same with China. The policy of the most populous nation on this planet is to grow its economy and become the most powerful nation on this planet, period. They concern themselves with their concerns alone. Putin could have easily stopped the annexation of the Crimea and called for a negotiated solution or at least discouraged the pro-Russia movement in east Ukraine, and China could stop North Korea's aggressive behavior tomorrow but why should they? Those behaviors benefit them. Middle East chaos has gone on for centuries between enemies that have warred for 1400 years with no end in sight.
So criticize away, all you critics, but until you have answers you are wasting your readers' time.
