A class of five individuals and four teams will be inducted into the Everett Community College Athletic Hall of Fame on Tuesday night at a dinner banquet in the school’s Student Fitness Center.
The athletes being inducted include:
— Barbara (Bonnell) Burleson, a field hockey, track and tennis standout from 1973-75.
— Greg Sambrano, an all-conference soccer player in 1982 and 1983.
— Chris Sievers, a three-event state champion in track and field in 1954 who helped Everett to a state team championship.
— Zach Simons, an all-conference pitcher in 2004 and 2005, and the North Region’s MVP in 2005, who played seven years in professional baseball.
— Tom Wells, a golfer in 1966 and 1967 who helped his team to the state title his first season and was the state medalist in his second season.
The teams being inducted are:
— The 1954 track and field team that won a state championship.
— The 1969 and 1970 golf teams that went undefeated both seasons.
— The 1981-82 women’s basketball team that finished 21-7 and reached the league championship game.
— The 1994-95 men’s basketball team that reached the league championship game.
This is the sixth year that athletes and teams have been inducted into the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame.
