Everett CC to induct 2014 Athletic Hall of Fame class

    The 1954 Everett Community College track and field team won the state championship.

A class of five individuals and four teams will be inducted into the Everett Community College Athletic Hall of Fame on Tuesday night at a dinner banquet in the school's Student Fitness Center.
The athletes being inducted include:
-- Barbara (Bonnell) Burleson, a field hockey, track and tennis standout from 1973-75.
-- Greg Sambrano, an all-conference soccer player in 1982 and 1983.
-- Chris Sievers, a three-event state champion in track and field in 1954 who helped Everett to a state team championship.
-- Zach Simons, an all-conference pitcher in 2004 and 2005, and the North Region's MVP in 2005, who played seven years in professional baseball.
-- Tom Wells, a golfer in 1966 and 1967 who helped his team to the state title his first season and was the state medalist in his second season.
The teams being inducted are:
-- The 1954 track and field team that won a state championship.
-- The 1969 and 1970 golf teams that went undefeated both seasons.
-- The 1981-82 women's basketball team that finished 21-7 and reached the league championship game.
-- The 1994-95 men's basketball team that reached the league championship game.
This is the sixth year that athletes and teams have been inducted into the school's Athletic Hall of Fame.
Tickets for tonight's banquet are no longer available.
