Murphy's Dorney wins MVP of 2A-3A feeder games

BELLINGHAM -- Archbishop Murphy's Ryan Dorney hit a home run and pitched four scoreless innings in separate games to lead the Americans to a sweep of the Nationals in the Cascade-Northwest conference feeder doubleheader games.

Dorney hit a home run in the Americans' 7-4 win over the Nationals in Game 1 on Wednesday and then pitched four scoreless innings in the Americans' 2-0 win over the Nationals in Game 2.

Local players nominated for the upcoming 2A all-state game include Dorney, Riley Larsen, Nick Bowersock and Colton Sandhofer. The all-state games are June 14-15 in Yakima and final rosters for  the games are scheduled to be released on Tuesday.
