    Experience Everett

The Everett AquaSox kick off their season on June 13.

Sean Straub of Experience Everett is sharing this guide to what's coming up in Everett this month. Look for more updates each month.
Summer is in the air. And not a moment too soon. Everett is bursting at the seams with fun stuff going on in June. Here are a few of our favorites things to check out.
This weekend:
Sorticulture: What's Sorticulture? It's hands-down the best garden art fest in the Northwest – or maybe anywhere. Three days of art, garden goodies, Ciscoe Morris' ooh-la-la-ing, food, wine and live music over a sunny weekend in Everett. Yes, please! Details: www.sorticulture.org.
Artists' Garage Sale: The Artists' Garage Sale at the Schack is this Saturday. Over 100 artists will be selling art and art supplies at super low, garage sale prices. Details: http://bit.ly/art-g-sale.
Farmer's Market: Take a break from Sorticulture on Sunday and stroll down to the Farmer's Market. The market features dozens of vendors dealing in farm-fresh, organic produce, delicious baked goods, local meats and cheeses and other various artisan products. The market is open every Sunday from 11 a.m to 4 p.m., rain or shine! Details: http://bit.ly/evtwaterfrontmarket. And starting June 13, the Everett Friday Farmer’s Market begins at the Everett Mall from 3 to 7 p.m. Details: http://bit.ly/evtfridaymkt.
BraStock: It’s not anything like a beanstalk, it’s actually a fundraiser at the Austin on Friday that benefits the Bra Shop, a non-profit that provides post-mastectomy prosthesis and bras to breast cancer survivors. There’ll be live music, dancing, a silent auction and raffles which are all cool things. Suggested donation is $10. Details here: http://bit.ly/EvtBraStock
Comic Relief: Catch comedy in a couple different spots this weekend. On Saturday, Las Vegas award-winning comedian Brad Upton is set to perform at the Historic Everett Theatre at 8 p.m. Details: http://bit.ly/uptonHET. On Sunday evening, Cory Michaelis and his band of comics perform at Emory's on Silver Lake. Details: http://bit.ly/EvtComedyNight.
70th Anniversary of D-Day at Historic Flight: To commemorate this important day in our nation’s history, Historic Flight has put together a two day affair (Friday and Saturday) chock-full of interesting events. Details: http://bit.ly/historicflight.
Live Music: There's never a shortage of live music happening around town on a weekly basis. Check out Everett Rock for the most comprehensive concert list in Snohomish County. Details: http://bit.ly/everettrock.
Other June happenings:
Everett Aqua Sox: The Sox kick-off their season on Friday, June 13, against the Hillsboro Hops. Celebrate the start of summer by taking the family out to a ballgame. A post-game fireworks show will make this the perfect way to spend the evening. Tickets and season schedule can be found here: http://bit.ly/EvtAquaSox.
National Marina Day: Discover boating at the Port of Everett. Saturday, June 14, is National Marina Day and the Port is throwing a big soiree with fun for the whole family including boat rides, street food, live music, a beer garden from Scuttlebutt Brewing Co. and more. Details here: http://bit.ly/NatlMarinaDay2014.
OneRepublic - Comcast Arena: OneRepublic headlines a sold out show at Comcast Arena with The Script on June 12. Diehard fans can still find tickets on ticket reseller sites like StubHub.com. Tickets: http://bit.ly/OneRepublicTics Details: http://bit.ly/EvtOneRepublic.
Everett Music Initiative - The Cannery: Fresh off the recent success of their 70+ band Fisherman’s Village Music Festival, the guys over at Everett Music Initiative already have another show coming up Saturday, June 14, at The Cannery (2820 Oakes). Save a few bucks and guarantee your spot at the show by getting tickets in advance here: http://bit.ly/EMI6-14.
Hometown Hootenanny - Historic Everett Theatre: Hometown Hootenanny celebrates its final show at the Everett Historic Theatre on Saturday, June 14. It’s been a great run over the years and we’re sad to see them go. Get your tickets here: http://bit.ly/HomeHoot.
Bark for Life: Grab your pooch and head to Langus Park on Saturday, June 14, for Bark for Life. The American Cancer Society’s Bark For Life is a noncompetitive walk event for dogs and their owners to raise funds and awareness for the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer. Details: http://bit.ly/Bark4LifeEvt. Another way animal lovers can support our four-legged friends is to get involved with the 100K adoptional challenge. Read all about it here: http://bit.ly/Evt100KAdoptions.
Father’s Day at Historic Flight: Take dad to see some vintage planes. In honor of all fathers, HFF will offer member rides to fathers at half price with the purchase of a regular membership. Aircraft available this day include the DC-3, T-6 and Beaver. Details: http://bit.ly/historicflight.
Wine, Wings & More: Eat delicious food, drink local craft beverages, listen to live jazz and mingle around aviation exhibits at the Future of Flight in Mukilteo on Friday, June 20. Tickets and details here: http://bit.ly/wineandwings.
Historic Everett High Tea: Snack on scrumptious small bites and sip tea with other local history buffs on Saturday, June 21. Local actress Tames Alan will speak on women’s suffrage and if you wear a crazy hat, you might win some French macarons. Details: http://bit.ly/EvtHighTea.
Group Beer Run: Workout with a group, run (or walk) a 5K, and drink a well earned beer – in that order. The group beer run combines some of my favorite things, running at the marina and Scuttlebutt beer. This month’s run is on Sunday, June 22. Details: http://bit.ly/EvtBeerRun.
Music at the Marina: To me, this exemplifies summer in Everett more than anything. Free live music three times a week on one of the coolests stages and dance floors around. The Wild Snohomians kick off this year’s series on Thursday, June 26 followed by Doctorfunk on Saturday, June 28, and Gary Evans Collective on Sunday, June 29. Details: http://bit.ly/EvtSummer.
