Commander Mike Hirman said it appears the man who died was not wearing a seatbelt. He said the man and woman are in their early forties.
Hirman said the car was traveling on an Auburn street around 2 a.m. on Sunday when it struck a power pole, shattering the front of the car.
The investigation is on-going and they don’t know yet if speed, alcohol or drugs played a role.
