Everett Lacrosse Club’s Jameson Beretta has committed to play for Aurora University, an NCAA Division III school in Illinois.
Beretta, a high-school senior, has been attending Cascadia Community College in Bothell as a running start student. As a graduate, Beretta will have earned both an high-school diploma and an Associate of Arts degree.
“It’s an honor and a privilege to play for Aurora,” Beretta said.
Since becoming in intercollegiate sport in 2011, the Aurora lacrosse program is 56-18-0 and an even more impressive 30-2-0 on its home field.
Beretta joins a growing list of local lacrosse players that will go on to play in college.
“I see high-school players (on the east coast) getting all kinds of recognition, but I’m on the the west coast,” Beretta said. “I’m not one of those guys, but I’ll take anybody on.”
