Fly Day: The Flying Heritage Collection is putting on a special Father’s Day Fly Day from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday at the Flying Heritage Collection at Paine Field, 3407 109th St. SW, Everett. Father-son pilots will rev up two of FHC’s most popular warbirds, the only flying Focke-Wulf Fw 190 “Butcher Bird” in the world and the venerable North American P-51D Mustang, and give a flying demonstration. The event is free and dads who attend can enter a raffle to win a free private flight.
More flying: On Sunday the Historic Flight Foundation will offer half-price rides to fathers with the purchase of a regular membership. The DC-3, T-6 and Beaver will be flying that day. Get more info here.
Music New York singer Meg McLynn will entertain the Oso, Darrington and Arlington communities with Patsy Cline country music tunes at 6:30 p.m. Friday. The free show is at Terrace Park, 809 E. Fifth St., Arlington.
Outside: Saturday is National Get Outdoors Day. State parks and national forest will be free. No Northwest Forest Pass or Discover Pass will be required.

Art: The Edmonds Arts Festival is 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at 700 Main St., Edmonds. Derby: The Stanwood Camano Island Soap Box Derby, the largest soap box derby race on the West Coast, is from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Stanwood Senior Center. About 70 cars and drivers will compete for the opportunity to represent their hometown at the World Championship race in Akron, Ohio. For information, call 360-629-5257.
Sing it: A “Frozen” singalong is 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at The Lincoln Theatre, 712 S. First St., Mount Vernon. Get more info here.
Cemetery Tour: Take a walking tour of the Evergreen Cemetery at noon on Saturday. The tour starts from the north entrance at 4504 Broadway. Cost is $10. Gene Fosheim will lead people through the cemetery to visit the final resting places of important Everett residents. See the tomb of the Rucker family and the state centennial trees. Birds: Get a close-up look at the bodies of birds. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, the Whidbey Audubon Society will display a collection of carefully prepared taxidermy specimens. You can take a close look, even using a microscope. Live birds will also be there. Get details in our story here.
Shiny: The Arlington Show ‘N Shine is 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday in downtown Arlington. Antique, classic, hot rods and muscle cars will be on display. Get more info here.
Paddle: Hawaiian canoe races begin at 10 a.m. Saturday on Silver Lake. There will also be Hawaiian music and a concession stand. Get more info here.
Japanese Gulch: A ribbon-cutting, work party and tours of Mukilteo’s Japanese Gulch are planned on Saturday. The ribbon cutting is scheduled at 9 a.m. and the work party will be held from 10 a.m. to noon. Volunteers also will lead tours of the park, 4405 76th St. SW.
