KELSO — A 41-year-old man was sentenced Thursday to 39 years in prison on an attempted murder conviction for shooting a man in Kelso.
Richard Flowers apologized in Cowlitz County Superior Court to shooting victim Travis Russell, saying he suffers from addictions and mental health problems.
The Daily News reports Flowers and Russell were acquaintances. Flowers showed up at Russell’s house last October, pulled out a gun and told him to beg or pray because he was about to die.
Russell was shot in the head; another bullet pierced his lung. He survived by playing dead.
