PORTLAND — Seniors had finished classes and weren’t at Reynolds High School on Tuesday when freshman Emilio Hoffman was shot and killed at the school in Troutdale.
But seniors remembered him at Thursday night’s graduation ceremony with a moment of silence. And there was an emotional moment as his older brother walked across the stage.
School spokeswoman Andrea Watson says he was wearing Emilio’s soccer jersey.
The Oregonian reports classmates stood and cheered and many made “I love you” signs with their hands.
Reynolds is the second-largest high school in Oregon with about 2,700 students.
