The Timberbowl is a professional Western Rodeo Association event with contestants traveling to Darrington from around the Northwest and Canada. These men and women get the chance to show off their talents and skills in association-sanctioned events.
Showcasing the heritage and soul of ranch rodeo, the Darrington Timberbowl Rodeo features saddled bronco and bull riding, along with barrel racing competitions, calf roping, breakaway roping, team roping, steer wrestling, wild cow milking and bareback riding.
People enjoy the Businessmen’s Cow Milking Contest and the Mutton Bustin’ and Stick Pony Racing for kids.
Rodeo tickets are $10 general admission or $7 for seniors and children under 12.
After the rodeo, around 6 p.m., people can walk over to the adjacent Darrington Bluegrass Music Park for the “Dancing in the Dirt” concert. Admission is $10, with proceeds benefitting the Oso community mudslide relief efforts.
