LONDON — Top-seeded Novak Djokovic advanced to the second round at the Wimbledon tennis tournament with a 6-0, 6-1, 6-4 win Monday over Andrey Golubev of Kazakhstan.
Djokovic, who lost in last year’s Wimbledon final to Andy Murray, needed just 1 hour, 28 minutes to complete the win on Centre Court.
He didn’t face a break point and served seven aces.
“It was a great start,” Djokovic said, “credit to Andrey for coming back and playing some good tennis in the third (set).”
