Local baseball players named to all-state teams

Eight players from Wesco and a trio of Cascade Conference players were named to the Washington State Baseball Coaches Association’s all-state first team in their respective classifications.

In 4A, Lake Stevens pitcher Branden Kelliher, Snohomish infielder Haakon Lande, Cascade’s Ky Dye and Edmonds-Woodway’s Tate Budnick were selected as members of the all-state first team. All four players are seniors.

Marysville Pilchuck left-handed ace Cody Anderson and Stanwood outfielder Henry Hedeen highlight the 3A all-state first team. Shorewood’s Sam Boone and Kory Longaker were also named to the team.

Granite Falls’ Riley Larsen, Archbishop Murphy’s Ryan Dorney and Cedarcrest’s Colton Sandhofer made the 2A first team.

Coupeville’s Ben Etzell was named to the A-B first team.

Highlighting the 4A second team selections was Cascade’s K.J. Brady, The Herald’s Baseball Player of the Year, and Monroe’s Hunter Bingham, The Herald’s Boy Athlete of the Year. In 3A, Glacier Peak teammates Ray Rude and Branson Barnecut, and Mountlake Terrace’s Dominic DeMiero were named to the second team.

The all-state teams were announced Tuesday and were chosen by the WSBCA.
