Lake Stevens author Jenny Keller has been called the “baker to the stars” and Tori Spelling will tell you Keller is a “true inspiration.”
Keller plans to talk about her new cookbook “Eat More Dessert” and sign copies of it at 7 p.m. Thursday at University Bookstore, 15311 Main St., Mill Creek.* The event is free. Word is that Keller might bring a sweet treat with her to share. The book costs about $25.
Available from Page Street Publishing, the cookbook includes recipes for more than 100 desserts that can be served at all sorts of special gatherings.
More than just recipes, the book also is filled with tips, tricks and ideas for creating the perfect dessert table.
According to her publicist, Keller has baked since she was a preschooler. Chocolate chip cookies evolved into the ability to make wedding cakes. Her work has been featured in numerous bridal magazines and Spelling’s party planning book “CelebraTori.”
The new cookbook includes recipes for truffles, cupcakes, pudding cups, sundaes, strawberry shortcake in a jar and, yes, cakes.
Keller’s website is www.jennycookies.com.
Correction, June 25, 2014: The University Bookstore is at 15311 Main St. in Mill Creek. An earlier version of this story included an incorrect address.
