BELLINGHAM — A grand slam home run in the bottom of the fifth inning broke open a tight game and the Bellingham Bells defeated the Everett Merchants 5-0 in a nonleague game on Tuesday night.
The Merchants (11-2) were held to just three hits, all singles. The loss also ended Everett’s eight-game winning streak.
The Merchants face the Bells again tonight at 7 p.m. at Joe Martin Field.
