Edmonds: Police mourn loss of dogRetired Edmonds police dog Rocky died Tuesday morning at his home.
Rocky served the city from 2004 to 2011 alongside his handler, Cpl. Shane Hawley.
Rocky helped capture more than 100 suspects and was awarded the Distinguished Service Citation for Valor in 2011.
Everett: Schools superintendent Cohn’s contract extendedThe board of directors of Everett Public Schools has extended Superintendent Gary Cohn’s three-year contract by another year to June 30, 2017. The move came during the board’s regular meeting Tuesday and did not change Cohn’s salary, which was $182,204 for the 2013-2014 school year.
Lynnwood: Check out music festivalThe “Celebrate! Lynnwood Music & Dance Festival” is planned from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 19 at the Lynnwood Convention Center, 3711 196th Street SW.
The free festival will include performances, storytelling and arts and crafts.
Evening events are planned from 5 to 10:30 p.m., including a beer and wine garden, live music and food trucks.

Monroe: City Council meeting cancelledThe Monroe City Council has cancelled its meeting scheduled for Tuesday.
