Snohomish teen an alternate dairy ambassador
Marcy Bartelheimer, of Snohomish, was selected as an alternate ambassador at the annual Washington State Dairy Ambassador Coronation, held June 20 at the Holiday Inn in downtown Everett. As an alternate, Marcy will visit schools, county fairs and other events to promote dairy products, and she will receive a scholarship to continue her education.
Mikel Levi, of Stanwood, was a finalist.
Rotary donates to local book effort
The Rotary Club of Lake Stevens on June 14 donated $2,000 to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, which provides new age-appropriate books each month to infants through 5-year-olds who live in the Lake Stevens School District. Currently 876 children receive a book each month.
United Way of Snohomish County, the Lake Stevens Education Foundation and the Rotary Club of Lake Stevens, and other organizations and individuals, help raise funds to sponsor the program. It costs $27 per year to send a book a month to a child.
Brokers help spruce rooftop playground
The Brokers at Windermere Everett South participated in the annual Windermere Community Service Day June 20. This year the team helped to renovate the playground equipment on the roof of the Imagine Children’s Museum in Everett.
