LYNNWOOD — City leaders expect to name a new Lynnwood fire chief in the coming weeks.
Three final candidates for the position will be interviewed in executive session Monday, Mayor Nicola Smith said.
She expects to choose a fire chief by mid-July. The City Council then would confirm the choice in mid-August.
Lynnwood has been without a permanent fire chief since 2011. Since then, the assistant fire chiefs have taken turns as interim chief.
Lynnwood officials in 2012 estimated the fire chief’s salary at $115,905 to $146,661, depending on experience and qualifications.
