EVERETT — The Everett Fire Department is investigating two suspicious fires that were discovered at two different drugstores Friday.
The first fire was reported at 4 a.m. Friday at the downtown Walgreens store on 22nd Street and Broadway. The second call came in at 3:45 p.m. Friday from the Walgreens in Silver Lake at 132nd Street SE and 19th Avenue SE.
Fire Marshal Rick Robinson said the fires stood out because both were Walgreens stores and that the fires occurred outside where the building material was not combustible.
“Both fires occurred in a similar location, near the Dumpsters, and it was with the same materials, plastic totes,” Robinson said.
There were no witnesses to either fire, Robinson said, and investigators are working to determine the facts surrounding the fires and if they were intentionally set.
The investigation will continue next week.
