Lunchtime concerts
Snohomish County’s yearly summer concert series is set to begin Wednesday with a performance by Bradford Loomis.
The show is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the county amphitheater at Rockefeller Avenue and Wall Street in Everett.
Performances by more artists are scheduled for the same time and place each Wednesday through Aug. 27.
Here’s the lineup: Ayron Jones, Fauna Shade, Nigel Mustafa, Preacher’s Wife, Ian McFeron, Arkomo and the Curtis Hammond Band.

Eat pancakes, meet firefighters: The annual Lake Stevens firefighters’ pancake breakfast is set for 6 a.m. to noon, July 26-27.
The breakfast of pancakes, ham and eggs takes place during Aquafest at the downtown fire station, 12409 21st Street NE. Breakfast is free but donations are requested.
Ice cream: We all scream for ice cream. Discover interesting facts about the history of this frozen treat, 2 p.m. July 8 at the Monroe Library, 1070 Village Way. For school-age children.
