State salary commission needs to fill a seat
The Washington Citizens’ Commission on Salaries of Elected Officials is seeking a resident of the 2nd Congressional District to serve on the panel which will decide if members of the executive, legislative and judicial branches get raises in 2015.
The congressional district stretches from Everett to Bellingham and includes all of Island and San Juan counties.
To be eligible, a person must be at least 18 years old and live in the district. Applicants cannot be a public employee or immediate family member of a public employee.
The 17-member commission includes one person from each of the 10 congressional districts and seven selected by the president of the Senate and the House speaker.
Commissioners serve four-year terms. They are unpaid but eligible for reimbursements for food, travel and lodging.
Appointments are due to Gov. Jay Inslee by July 31.
Those interested in applying can call Teri Wright, the director of the salary commission, at 866-809-8116.
