Mudslide detour

Not about money? Then donate some

I just read the article, “Hard bargain after landslide,” where Mr. Walsh basically extorted $85,000 from the DOT so the bypass road around the Oso mudslide could be completed. Talk about profiteering from someone else's tragedy. During negotiations, David Narvaez from the DOT says Walsh took him out to his garage to show him a pricey sports car, telling him, “Dave, it's not about the money … See we have money.” Then I say to Mr. Walsh, put your money where your mouth is and donate all of it to the Oso disaster fund. While you're about it, (since it's not about the money), why don't you throw in $5,000 of your own.
