There are few things in life as gratifying as a cold beer after mowing one’s lawn. One of the best new beers for just that occasion is Ninkasi Brewing’s Lux, a Helles-style lager brewed in the traditional German-style.
In German, “helles” denotes something bright or blonde, so this is a very light lager. The version made by the Eugene, Ore. brewery, which is part of its Prismatic Lager Series, has a lightly toasted, clean malt profile and is balanced by the addition of Noble German hops. It’s bright and refreshing and the perfect antidote to a day spent wrestling with any yard-maintenance machinery.
