NEW YORK — With co-star Ariana Grande hitting it big in the music world this summer, her “Sam &Cat” series on Nickelodeon is about to become history.
The children’s network said Monday that Thursday’s episode of the series will be its last. The series debuted last summer with Grande and Jennette McCurdy.
It was Nickelodeon’s most popular series at times this year.
After an initial order of 20 episodes, Nick doubled it to 40. But the series shut down production in the spring, four episodes short of a full order.
Grande’s single “Problems” has already sold 2.3 million tracks.
