PAWS adds several board members
The Progressive Animal Welfare Society of Lynnwood has added four community leaders to its board of directors. They are: Leslie Chandler, a community volunteer; Leila Kirske, chief financial officer of EMC Corporation; Don McGowan, general counsel for The Pokeman Company; and Hanna Tweedy, senior systems analyst for Starbucks. PAWS rehabilitates injured and orphaned wildlife, shelters, helps people adopt homeless cats and dogs and educates people to make a better world for animals and people. The board has 16 members.

New officers and directors join Soroptimist International of Everett
Soroptimist International of Everett has installed new officers and directors for the 2014-15 year, including President Donna Stringer, Vice President Marina Ball, Recording Secretary Debbie Blodgett and others. The club meets from 12 to 1 p.m. at the Everett Golf & Country Club every second and fourth Wednesday of the month.

New president of the Group Health physicians board
The Group Health Physicians Board of Directors has selected Dr. Steve Tarnoff as president and chief medical executive. Tarnoff succeeds Dr. Michael Soman, who retired in June. Tarnoff will oversees the care of nearly 400,000 patients in Group Health Cooperative's 25 owned and operated facilities throughout Washington.

New HR director at Canyon Creek Cabinets in Monroe
Canyon Creek Cabinet Company recently appointed Deena Eckroth to be its new HR director. Eckroth has more than 15 years of human resources management experience in the manufacturing environment, providing strategic leadership in the areas of employee recruitment, development and retention.

Partner at Moss Adams takes over specialty taxes group
Accounting and business consulting firm Moss Adams has announced a leadership change to its specialty tax services group. Partner Marke Greene, a 14-year veteran of tax consulting, has taken over as national partner in charge, replacing Keith Palmer, who has been with the firm since 1979 and will retire at the end of the year. Greene will work in Seattle. The firm has an Everett office with close to 100 employees.

New Coastal branch manager to hire team
Coastal Community Bank announced that Terri Stefnik has joined the bank as vice president and branch manager for its newest location in south Everett that is expected to open in the fall. Stefnik, a long-time Everett resident and 25-year banking veteran, will be hiring staff over the next few months.

Bickford Ford wins company's President's Award
Bickford Ford was recognized with a 2013 President's Award by Ford Motor Company. Bickford Ford has earned the award seven times. The award honors dealerships that have excelled in automotive retailing.

Bothell video company recognized
Apollo Video Technology in Bothell has been recognized with a gold award from New Flyer Industries Canada for delivery performance in 2013. The award marks the fourth performance award Apollo Video has received from New Flyer and its third consecutive gold rating. Apollo Video provides New Flyer with the mobile video surveillance systems.

Nursing care facility in Snohomish honored
Snohomish's Merry Haven Care Center has received a 2014 Bronze Commitment to Quality Award for its dedication to improving the lives of residents through quality care. The award is the first of three distinctions possible through the National Quality Award program, presented by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living.

Bothell roofing company recognized for excellence, quality
North Creek Roofing Inc., of Bothell, was recently honored with CertainTeed Corporation's Select ShingleMaster Tenured Member Status. This credential represents the highest standards of excellence, quality and knowledge in the shingle roofing industry. The program provides contractors with high-level training and tools to improve installation skills, and enhanced roofing product information.

Foundation gives $10,000 to Boys & Girls Clubs
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Snohomish County was recently awarded a $10,000 grant from the Opus Community Foundation toward the continued implementation of the SMART Girls program. The Opus Community Foundation provides financial support to nonprofit organizations that make a positive and meaningful impact in their communities.

Boeing employees volunteer at Clothes For Kids
Clothes For Kids welcomed 23 Boeing employees and retired Sno-King Bluebills for the Global Day of Service on July 12. The volunteers set up shelving and clothing racks and helped move coats and shoes from the organization's storage unit. They also assisted with inventory and set up.

Open house on Lynnwood's Streetscape Plan
Lynnwood's City Center Streetscape Plan is the subject of an open house from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the City Hall Council Chambers, 19100 44th Ave. W, Lynnwood. The proposed plan is near completion and the public is invited to comment on elements of the plan, such as sidewalk paving, lighting and street trees.

Washington State Department of Revenue will host a free live webinar for new and small business owners about business taxes and tax reporting. The event is 10 to 11 a.m. July 30. NetRiver in Lynnwood bought by Seattle company
Lynnwood data center company NetRiver has been acquired by Seattle's BYTEGRID Holdings, a company focused on the nationwide acquisition, development and operation of premier multi-tenant data center facilities. The plan is to enhance the service offerings to NetRiver's existing customers and create room for growth within the current facility.
