Running back Christine Michael left practice early, though Carroll expects him back after the team gets a day off Monday: “He just banged his shoulder a little bit. They think he’ll be ready to go on Tuesday.”
WR Kevin Norwood missed his second straight practice, which it turns out is the result of an old foot injury: “He’s had a foot that was sore back in OTAs. He came back on the first day and felt it again, so we’re going to rest him until Tuesday and see how he does coming back. He had an old surgery in school, and we’ve checked it all out, there’s no big problems with it, but he does have a sore foot so we’re resting him.”
On rookie DT Jimmy Staten, who left Saturday’s practice with an injury, Carroll said: “Jimmy hyper-extended his knee a little bit and actually pulled his hamstring pretty good. He had a pretty legitimate hamstring pull yesterday, so he’s going to be out for a little bit.”
On LT Russell Okung, who is working his way back from foot surgery: “Probably two weeks of work so that we’re really sure that he’s going to be ready to roll. We’ll know more as we press him more, but he in good shape, he’s getting a lot of work done in the walkthrough periods and stuff. He’s doing all the first-team walkthrough stuff, so his learning part of it is up to date, but we’re just going to be really careful while we have all this time.”
On Percy Harvin: “He’s going through all of the rest of the day, he went through all of the walkthrough stuff and everything. We just want to work our way into camp mode and make sure we don’t overload him early. We’re trying to figure out what kind of a work load he can handle. He works so hard and so fast in practice, so we think we can do this for a while. We’ll see how it goes and we’re just going to learn as we go.”
And on Jesse Williams: “We just rested him. We’re just taking care of Jesse. Jesse’s coming back from a knee situation that we thought would warrant not overloading him back-to-back days right off the bat just so that we see what he can do.”
