Congratulations were in order to Aaron Jones, who was elected Lion of the Year by the North Everett Lions Club. Jones had been especially active supervising the Everett Bingo Parlor on Oakes Avenue, which was operated by the Lions.

Granite Falls City Council member John Holmes looked over the park he helped to create. With little money and a lot of moxie a hole in the ground was now a community asset. Holmes said he didnít deserve all the credit for Hillside Park, next to the fire hall, but that City Clerk Gerry James was the one who made it happen.
