Snohomish: Wildfire donations collected
The Snohomish Community Food Bank is taking donations for the communities affected by wildfires in Eastern Washington.
Money that is donated is expected to be used to buy perishable foods. The food bank is also looking for donations of medical supplies, school clothing and supplies, toiletries, hygiene items and gas cards.
People can make checks out to SCFB and note that the funds are for wildfire victims.

Mill Creek: Design review board needs volunteer
The city of Mill Creek is looking for a volunteer to fill a vacancy on the design review board. The term expires on Aug. 31, 2017.
The boardís meetings are held at 5:15 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month. The board reviews site plans, building elevations, landscaping and monument signs for developments. It makes urban design decisions that promote the cityís aesthetics.
Members should have a background in architecture, urban design, planning or a similar field but do not need to live in Mill Creek.
Letters of interest may be sent to: Sherrie Ringstad, City of Mill Creek, 15728 Main St., Mill Creek, WA 98012. They must be delivered to City Hall no later than 5 p.m. on Aug. 22.
Mukilteo: Join new Paws on Patrol group
The new Mukilteo Paws on Patrol program is growing, according to police.
The second meeting will be held in September. The group teaches dog owners how to look for suspicious activity while out walking with their pets.

The Mukilteo Police Department is planned a free eight-week Citizens Academy class starting Sept. 11.
Classes will be held on weeknight evenings at the Rosehill Community Center, 304 Lincoln Ave.
