EUGENE, Ore. — Everett, led by big offensive nights from Nelson Ward, Phillips Castillo, Sheehan Planas-Arteaga and Kristian Brito, scored 10 runs on 13 hits and then held off Eugene in the ninth inning for a 10-7 Northwest League victory Wednesday night.
Ward batted 2-for-5 with a home run and two runs batted. Catillo and Brito each contributed three RBI. Planas-Arteaga batted 3-for-4 with a double and scored twice.
AquaSox starting pitcher Dan Altavilla (2-2) pitched six innings, giving up three runs on five hits and four walks while striking out seven.
Eugene rallied for four runs in the bottom of the ninth against Everett reliever Ramire Cleto before Leoncio Munoz got the final out to earn his third save of the season.
