EUGENE, Ore. — Three AquaSox pitchers combined to throw a one-hitter, striking out a combined 14 batters as Everett defeated Eugene 3-0 Friday night.
Everett starter Ryan Yarbrough struck out seven and didn’t allow a hit in three innings of work. Brett Ash (1-0) got his first win of the season with four innings of relief, surrendering just one hit to Eugene shortstop River Stevens. Kody Kerski pitched the final two innings to earn his third save of the season.
Corey Simpson started the AquaSox offense with an RBI single to left field in the top of the second inning. Everett (7-4 second half, 18-31 overall) added another run in the eighth on a throwing error by Eugene pitcher Aaron Cressley, that allowed Kristian Brito to score on a ball hit by Austin Cousino.
Adam Martin hit an RBI double in the ninth to pad the Frogs’ lead.
