Thanks to businesses for help during fire

In the early morning hours of Sunday, July 20, a fire broke out at the Beverly Village apartments at 801 75th Street SE, forcing several families from their homes. The Everett Fire Department would like to thank the nearby businesses who opened their doors to the displaced victims and gave support to the firefighters.
The manager and employees of the Safeway store at 75th and Evergreen Way willingly opened the store early, offering the families a warm place to stay while they awaited assistance from the Red Cross. The Starbucks coffee store at Evergreen Way and 75th generously provided the firefighters with much-needed coffee. And the Bible Baptist Church on 805 W. Casino Road furnished additional shelter to the people who lost their homes. These Everett businesses truly demonstrated outstanding community spirit and we applaud them for their thoughtful consideration.
