The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association has announced a three-year agreement with MaxPreps to be the WIAA’s “Official Digital Media Partner and Statistician.”
According to a statement, the move will “provide all [WIAA] member high schools with a streamlined process to submit information for important WIAA initiatives and … to increase accuracy, visibility and positive promotion of high school sports information.”
“This partnership keeps the WIAA at the forefront of technology and aligns it with other State Associations,” said WIAA Executive Director Mike Colbrese. “Member schools, student-athletes and high school sports enthusiasts will have the luxury of one centralized location for statewide schedules, scores and standings.”
During the first year of the agreement, MaxPreps will provide regular and postseason information on its website, MaxPreps.com, for baseball, basketball, football, soccer, softball and volleyball. The WIAA and MaxPreps are looking to expand coverage to other sports in the following years.
“MaxPreps is thrilled to partner with the WIAA and establish a streamlined data entry process for all member schools,” said MaxPreps president and founder Andy Beal in the press release. “High school sports are important to communities and most importantly young people throughout the United States.”
The WIAA is the 16th State Association to partner with MaxPreps, which already works with associations from Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Indiana, Mississippi, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas and Utah.
