The Seahawks have waived/injured rookie safety Dion Bailey, who suffered a serious ankle sprain in Saturday’s mock game. If unclaimed on waivers, Bailey will be on injured reserve. To fill the open roster spot, Seattle signed defensive back Trey Wolfe, who spent rookie minicamp with the Seahawks.
—Speaking of Wolfe, he was given something of a rude welcome back thanks to Paul Richardson. Not long after Wolfe joined his new teammates on the field, Richardson blew by him for a long touchdown catch from Terrelle Pryor.
Richardson, who returned from a shoulder injury yesterday and wore a red jersey, was no longer in red and had a productive day. He’ll definitely be someone to keep an eye on in Thursday’s preseason opener assuming his shoulder is healthy enough for him to play.
—Seattle’s other pass-catching speedster, Percy Harvin, turned in one of the day’s best plays, splitting coverage down the middle of the field for a 50-yard touchdown catch on a well-thrown ball from Russell Wilson during 7-on-7 drills.
—Marshawn Lynch saw his workload increase, including a touchdown catch in team drills, though Robert Turbin and Christine Michael still had the bulk of the reps.
—Russell Okung and Kam Chancellor practiced for the second straight day, though again they were limited in their workload.
—Receiver Phil Bates was back after leaving yesterday’s practice early because he was sick.
—DT Tony McDaniel sat out today’s practice. We didn’t talk to Pete Carroll today, so there won’t be an update until Wednesday, but it’s very possible that the veteran was just getting a rest day.
—Guard James Carpenter returned from a calf injury, though he too was limited.
—K.J. Wright had a nice interception and return that ended with Doug Baldwin punching the ball loose on the sideline. That led to Kam Chancellor playfully critiquing Baldwin’s ball-stripping skills.
