Enforce system that already exists

For the last couple years I have heard that after 200 years our immigration system is broken, what I haven't heard is what is broken about it. Or do we need to reform it so we can take care of the 11 million illegal immigrants already in this country, the ones we let in when we weren't enforcing our existing laws? The path to citizenship is a process; processes take time and don't come free, and someone has to pay for it. The path does not include coming into this country illegally. It would be interesting to see how many of the 11 million illegal immigrants have started the process of becoming legal citizens, my guess would be not many of them. The American people are not stupid; we know it's not about doing the right thing, it's about votes.
I travel internationally once a year and when I return to the United States, everyone has to show a passport or they don't even get on the plane; if you slip through the cracks and get on a plane you can't get through the terminal here without it. But the politicians want you to let illegal immigrants just walk in over our southern border.
President Obama is to blame for the open border policy on the southern border, but our politicians we send to represent us could force enforcement of our border laws, but they don't want to lose the votes.
When you go to the polls between now and the elections in 2016, I encourage you to vote against any person who has already served two terms in their current position, doesn't matter, Democrat or Republican.
John Graham
