Coast Guard rescues 2 from overturned boat

ILWACO — The U.S. Coast Guard says it rescued two people Saturday afternoon from an overturned boat in the Ilwaco Channel in southwest Washington.
The crew pulled out the two people, whose ages were not available, shortly after Coast Guard Sector Columbia River in Warrenton, Oregon, received a call for help at 4:45 p.m.
A crew from Coast Guard Station Cape Disappointment rescued the boaters, who were then taken to a medical facility. The Coast Guard says that the boaters showed signs of possible hypothermia.
The Coast Guard reminds boaters that water temperatures around the Pacific Northwest remain much colder than temperatures on land.
The 16-foot aluminum boat sank.
