Washington transitions to 6-year driver’s license

OLYMPIA — The Washington Department of Licensing is starting to transition from a five-year to a six-year driver's license cycle.
During the five-year transition, some people will receive a five-year license and some a six-year.
The cost of the license remains $9 per year, so the cost will be $45 or $54, depending on the term.
