Brewers coming to the third annual festival, set for Saturday, were told to bring their best fruit beers. A number obliged and are bringing beers brewed with raspberries, blackberries, strawberries and more.
“It’s a chance for brewers to be experimental,” said Matt Russell, the Washington Beer Commission director of festival operations. “Fruit beers are an opportunity for guys to use fresh ingredients and make beers that stand out.”
At first glance, a few of the fruit beers that stand out include Valholl’s Crimson Cove Smoked Cherry Rye, North Sound’s Mango Hopsolute IPA and Fremont’s Raspberry Infused Dark Star.
This year’s festival features 32 breweries pouring over 100 different beers in downtown Everett. The festival is from noon to 7 p.m. and will take place on Hoyt between Hewitt and Pacific.
Advance tickets are $20 and can be purchased at Brown Paper Tickets online or $25 at the door ($15 with military ID). Entry includes a tasting cup and six tokens, each one good for a 5-ounce taster. Additional tokens can be purchased for $1.50 each or four for $5.
