SALEM, Ore. — The owner of a blind bison said she hopes to select a new home for it soon in the Salem area.
Lisa Miller told the Statesman Journal she is no longer able to care for the 14-year-old beast at her home north of Salem but wants to be close enough to visit.
A dozen offers have come in, including one from the Lighthouse Farm Sanctuary in Scio. The president of the sanctuary, Wayne Geiger, said it can handle the blind bison because it once cared for a blind cow.
