Tax refunds for wildfire-damaged homes in Okanogan
Okanogan County Treasurer Leah McCormack said the county has sent out over $10,000 in tax refunds for lost structures and reduced property values because of the wildfires. It is unclear how much more money the county will be refunding.
The county is readjusting property taxes for people who suffered losses in the state’s largest fire, known as the Carlton Complex.
